Robot Vacuum Art

We all know robot vacuums are lifesavers on the fight against dust bunnies, but have you ever considered them…artistic collaborators? Buckle up, because we’re going to show you how to turn your trusty robot vac into the next Jackson Pollock (minus the existential angst, hopefully).

Materials:

  • A robot vacuum cleaner (preferably with a scheduling function)
  • Washable markers with a thick tip (washable is key, trust us)
  • Masking tape for attaching the markers (optional, for creating designated art zones)
  • Butcher paper or taped together white paper (even large pieces of cardboard would work)
  • Barriers to keep the vacuum on the canvas
  • Optional: heavy objects to place in random spots to get the vacuum to change paths

How to

  • Set the robot down on the canvas and secure a marker to the backside of your vacuum robot using masking tape.
  • Press start and let the art begin!
  • Experiment with different marker placements for varied effects.
  • Experiment with blockades that changes the robot’s direction.

Sharing Your Masterpiece

Snap photos of your robot’s masterpiece and share them online with the hashtag #RoombaRembrandt. Who knows, you might inspire a whole new movement of robotic art!

So next time you think about firing up your robot vacuum, remember, it’s not just a cleaning machine, it’s a potential Picasso in the making. Let the creative chaos commence!
