Andrea's Spinning Bot

Forget brushing teeth! This time, the electric toothbrush uses its vibrations to power a pool noodle doodling bot! The bristles become a motor, making the attached markers dance across the paper and create art.

What you'll need

We found everything that we needed at the dollar store.

  • 1 pool noodle, cut to the length of the toothbrush
  • 1 electric toothbrush
  • 2 rubber bands
  • 3 -4 markers

Set it up

Step 1 should be done by an adult!

  1. Cut the pool noodle open with a serrated knife
  2. Insert electric toothbrush
  3. Use a rubber band to secure the toothbrush inside of the pool noodle
  4. Wrap another rubber band around the mid section
  5. Weave 3 -4 markers under the rubber bands

We also explored a sideways bot which was fun but made erratic lines.
